[Maintenance Tips] Installation of Ailipu Metering Pumps

In this issue, I specially summarize some knowledge about pump installation for you to ensure that the pump can run more efficiently, safely and stably.

01

The pump should be installed on a dedicated spare concrete foundation or cast iron platform.

After correction, fix it with anchor bolts, and the concrete foundation should be 50~100 mm higher than the ground to prevent the water from rushing. Reserve enough space around the pump to facilitate maintenance and adjustment of the pump.

02

The suction and discharge pipe diameters should not be smaller than the inlet and outlet pipe diameters of the pump, and the suction pipe should be as short as possible. If the inlet pipe of the Metering Pump is too long or the viscosity of the medium being conveyed is large, the diameter of the inlet pipe should be increased, otherwise the normal operation of the pump will be affected.

03

Connecting pipelines should be equipped with measuring instruments, such as pressure gauges.

04

A Filter should be installed at the end of the suction line.

05

The discharge pipeline should be equipped with a Safety Valve or a Safety Relief Valve (provided by the user).

If you need to reduce the outlet pressure pulsation, a pulsation damper can be installed on the discharge pipeline near the pump (with a buffer, a M27x2 threaded installation joint that can install a capsule damper with a volume of less than 1L has been reserved on the outlet manifold of this equipment. For installation, the inner hole of the joint needs to be drilled through the inner hole of the joint with a pistol drill to make it communicate with the main pipe).

5

The Pipeline safety valve and pulsation damper are important auxiliary equipment on metering pump. The pipeline safety valve is usually installed in the discharge pipeline behind the liquid collecting pipe, and its function is to prevent the pressure in the pump outlet pipe from being too high and protect the safe operation of the pump.

The pulsation damper is used to reduce the unevenness of the flow in the pipeline and make the flow pulsation smaller. The pulsation damper is an auxiliary equipment for the purpose of reducing the unevenness of the flow in the pipeline by using the compression and expansion of the gas to store or release a part of the liquid.

The electrical control equipment should be installed at the working place of the pump as far as possible according to the usage. Electrical control equipment shall be equipped with corresponding control switch protection devices to ensure safety. When wiring, pay attention to the direction of rotation of the pump motor.

Before connecting the power supply, please carefully check the technical parameters on the motor nameplate to ensure that the supplied voltage is consistent with the working voltage level of the motor, and the supplied voltage fluctuation should be 10% of the rated voltage.

7

07

The technical requirements for the installation of the pump shall comply with the relevant regulations in the "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Mechanical Equipment Installation Engineering". Avoid directly acting on the pump head with the support force (weight) of the outlet pipeline, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the metering pump

08

Pumps installed outdoors should be covered by an awning.

09

When the outlet pressure of the pump is less than 0.3MPaG or the inlet pressure is greater than the outlet pressure (there is a self-flow phenomenon), a back pressure valve should be installed on the outlet pipeline of the metering pump to ensure the accuracy of the metering pump fluid dosing
