[Metering Pump Maintenance Tips] Preventive Maintenance Of AILIPU J-series Mechanical Diaphragm Pump

Preventive maintenance of metering pumps can improve the efficiency of safe pump operation, extend the service life of the equipment, can reduce or avoid the normal use of the pump due to the failure of certain equipment.

Ailipu J series mechanical diaphragm pump preventive maintenance can start from the following aspects.

1. Transmission Part

The gear oil shall be changed after the initial operation for one month, and the lubricating oil in the transmission case shall be changed after every 6 months. Before installing the oil drain plug into the oil drain hole again, it shall be wrapped with PTFE tape.

2. Diaphragm Assembly

In order to avoid failure, it is recommended that the diaphragm assembly should be inspected and replaced every 4000 ~ 5000 hours of operation

3. Oil seal

The oil seal used to seal the oil in the transmission box shall be inspected and replaced every 4000 hours or every year to avoid failure. Since the diaphragm assembly needs to be removed when checking or replacing the oil seal, it is recommended to replace the oil seal and diaphragm assembly at the same time if necessary.

4. Check valve / Non return valve

It is recommended that the Check Valve ball, valve seat and sealing gasket should be inspected and replaced every year or every 5000 hours. For example, when transporting highly corrosive substances (acid, slurry suspension, etc.), these components need to be inspected and replaced more frequently in some cases.

To determine if a check valve requires maintenance, take care to look carefully at the ball and seat for chemical or physical damage. The valve ball should be very round (typically roundness is controlled to <5μm) and free of pits, scratches or scuffs.

The valve ball should maintain a clear edge so that the ball seals well. If the ball edge is worn or damaged, or has pits, scratches or nicks, it should be replaced. If the valve ball and (or) seat transition damage, the replacement period can be shortened accordingly; if the valve ball and seat are in good condition, the replacement period can be extended appropriately.

5. Leakage of the Detection Port

Determine the liquid collected at the detection port of the pump head, whether it is the material conveyed or the lubricant. If the diaphragm is ruptured, the detection port leakage is the transported medium material. If the transmission end of the oil seal of the oil barrier rupture, the detection port leakage is the lubricant.
